The Cowichan WUP Public Advisory Group (PAG) held their first meeting in Duncan on November 22, 2017. A summary of the meeting objectives and highlights can be found on the Other Materials page. The next PAG meeting will be held in Duncan on February 1, 2018.
To ensure the Cowichan WUP is reflective of the diverse range of interests and priorities of the residents and businesses of the region, a public advisory group (PAG) has been formed to work collaboratively through a structured planning process. PAG members have now been confirmed (see table below) and were selected to include representatives from local, provincial and federal government, First Nations, industry, local community and interest groups, and area residents. The PAG held their first meeting in Duncan on November 22.
An open house and information meeting for the Cowichan Water Use Plan was held at the Youbou Hall in Youbou on October 23rd.
Members of the public were provided information on the challenges and changing nature of water management in the Cowichan watershed and an overview of the community planning process for the Cowichan WUP through a series of storyboards and presentations. Representatives from the partner organizations and the project consultant team were on hand to present and answer any questions during the open house and a Question & Answer period.
Over 70 people signed the attendance sheet, and visitors were invited to record their written comments on a feedback poster. Further information was provided for how to keep informed and get involved throughout the planning process. Those interested in volunteering were invited to submit an application to participate on the Public Advisory Group (PAG).
The October 27th deadline to submit an application to volunteer on the Cowichan WUP Public Advisory Group has passed. Application forms are no longer being accepted.
At this time we would like to thank all interested volunteers who have submitted an application. The Steering Committee will be reviewing applications the week of October 30 – November 3. All applicants will be contacted on whether they were selected or not selected to the PAG. The PAG membership will be posted to this site once finalized.
We are currently seeking candidates to participate on a public advisory group (PAG). More information on the PAG process, volunteer requirements, application instructions and an application form can be found on the Planning Process page.
Applicants who wish to participate on the PAG are asked to submit a completed application form to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Applications can be submitted up to October 27, 2017.
